Before You Begin

Make sure you have:

  • A Shopify store with admin access
  • A Roastify account with a paid plan (Base or Pro)
  • At least one product created in Roastify
  • A valid payment method on file in Roastify

You need to add a payment method to Roastify before orders can be fulfilled. Go to Settings > Billing to add your payment information.

Step 1: Install the Roastify App

Visit the Shopify App Store

Go to apps.shopify.com/roastify or search "Roastify" in the Shopify App Store.

Click Install

Find the Roastify app and click the green "Install" button.

Review Permissions

Shopify will show you what permissions Roastify needs:

  • Read and write products
  • Read and write orders
  • Read fulfillment orders
  • Read inventory

Click Install app to grant these permissions.

Wait for Installation

The app will install automatically. This usually takes less than a minute.

Step 3: Add Products to Your Store

Now connect your Roastify products to Shopify:

Go to Products in your Roastify dashboard

Find the product you want to sell on Shopify
Click the three dots menu (⋮) on the product
Select Add to Shopify

Choose which Shopify store to add it to (if you have multiple)

Check our detailed guide on syncing products to Shopify for more information.

Step 4: Configure Auto-Fulfillment

For the smoothest experience, set up automatic fulfillment:

Open your Shopify Admin

Go to Settings (bottom left)
Click Checkout or Orders and fulfillment
Scroll to Order processing
Select Automatically fulfill the order's line items

Click Save

Shopify auto fulfillment settings

Without automatic fulfillment enabled, orders will appear in Shopify as "Unfulfilled" and you'll need to manually send them to Roastify.

How Order Fulfillment Works

Once everything is set up, here's what happens:

Customer places order in your Shopify store

Order syncs automatically to Roastify (usually within seconds)
Payment is processed using your payment method on file
Roastify fulfills the order (prints labels, packs coffee, ships)
Tracking updates appear in both Shopify and Roastify

Customer receives their coffee!

Managing Multiple Stores

If you have multiple Shopify stores:

Install the Roastify app in each Shopify store

Each store will appear separately in your Roastify Integrations page
When adding products, choose which store to add to

Orders from each store are managed separately

Base Plan: 1 Shopify store | Pro Plan: Up to 3 Shopify stores

Troubleshooting Common Issues

"Orders aren't syncing"

Verify the app is still installed in Shopify
Check that auto-fulfillment is enabled
Look for error messages in the Roastify Integrations page
Ensure your payment method is valid and has funds

"Products not appearing in Shopify"

Confirm the product was properly added from Roastify
Refresh your Shopify products page
Check that the product is published in Shopify (not a draft)

"Inventory showing incorrect"

Roastify inventory updates may take a few minutes
Verify no other apps are modifying inventory
Contact support if issues persist

"Payment failing on orders"

Your payment method on file is valid
The card hasn't expired
Your bank isn't blocking the transaction
Update payment method in Settings > Billing

Disconnecting Your Store

If you need to disconnect your Shopify store:

Disconnecting will stop new orders from syncing. Any existing unfulfilled orders will still need to be completed.

Go to Integrations in Roastify

Find the Shopify store you want to disconnect
Click the three dots menu
Select Disconnect or Remove

Also uninstall the app from Shopify's Apps section

Disconnecting doesn't delete your products or historical data. You can reconnect anytime.
